Aged and Disability Advocacy

The Aged and Disability Advocacy Service (ADAS) is based in Darwin and also has an office in Nhulunbuy. ADAS visits Katherine monthly and provides services across the Top End of the NT.

ADAS assists older people or people with disabilities and their representatives who:

  • receive Home and Community Care Services (HACC)

You have rights no matter where you live, or how much assistance you need, including the rights to:

  • be supported by an advocate
  • be consulted and provided with information
  • gain access to quality services
  • be treated with dignity and respect, and to maintain your independence
  • feel safe
  • make a complaint

We can give you information and help about your rights regarding:

  • care and services you are receiving
  • activities in your community

We also provide

  • community awareness and education activities

If you require an interpreter (including Auslan) we will provide one for free.
