DCLS is committed to ensuring that the legal system is accessible to all members of our community. Community Legal Education (CLE) plays a major part in demystifying the law, and provides an opportunity to talk to the broader community about the rights of disadvantaged people. DCLS provides community education and training to groups that want to know more about legal rights and responsibilities. We can cover topics like:
![]() Remote Area Advocacy Training, Wadeye, 2003 We are available to run CLE sessions for community groups, schools, clubs etc, and can arrange for interpreters to attend sessions when required. Please download and fill out a Request for Community Legal Education form if you or your organisation would like DCLS to provide a CLE session or contact the DCLS Outreach Worker on 8982 1111 to discuss your requirements. For community groups this service is usually free. DCLS also produces a range of fact sheets on rights and responsibilities for people who want to know the law in the Northern Territory. We also participate in production of the NT Law Handbook. |
