About the Exhibiton | Gallery

Rights On Show is an annual community art award and exhibition, hosted by the Darwin Community Legal Service.

The exhibition aims to provide a forum for artists from across the Northern Territory to exhibit work which has a human rights focus. It also aims to promote dialogue within the arts sector about human rights and facilitate a dialogue in a visual language between artists and the broader community.

Each year the exhibition is linked to an international human rights theme.

DCLS is looking at adopting the United Nations theme — International Year of Planet Earth for the 2008 Show. This would give exhibitors an opportunity to think about and address the Human Rights implications of Climate Change and other issues of sustainable use of the Earth’s resources. The theme is not prescriptive.
