Volunteering

Darwin Community Legal Service is always looking for more volunteers and we welcome committed individuals who share our objectives.

Free Legal Advice Clinics
Since the service opened in 1990, our free clinics have been staffed by volunteers from the Darwin legal community.

We are seeking volunteers who are interested in staffing these clinics, which are held three times a week in Darwin, Casuarina and Palmerston. We are flexible about attendance patterns for volunteers. The service does not operate on public holidays and closes down over the  Christmas/New Year period.

We are seeking:

  • Supervising Solicitors – experienced practitioners currently admitted and eligible for unrestricted practising certificates
  • Legal Advisors – practising certificate required
  • Session Co-ordinators - no legal experience required

Research, administration, law reform etc
We also welcome volunteers to help with research, administration, law reform campaigns, and other aspects of our work at DCLS.

We have the capacity to host students looking for legal placements.

If you would like to volunteer, please contact the volunteer co-ordinator on 8982 1111 or email info@dcls.org.au
