The Elder Abuse Prevention Project has been funded by the Office of Senior Territorians for 12 months to raise awareness of elder abuse in the community and to identify strategies to protect older people from abuse and mistreatment.

As part of this work, DCLS is conducting a survey to assist us in drawing a picture of the type and range of mistreatment experienced by older people in the Northern Territory.

We also hope to discover ways to support the dignity and independence of older people by preventing abuse and responding usefully and respectfully once identified.

Please take a few moments to complete the anonymous survey at the link below.  The survey results will contribute to recommendations we will be making to the Office of Senior Territorians.

If you do not wish to do the survey online, you can download a hard copy here, print it, fill it in and post it to GPO Box 3180, Darwin NT 0801.

THIS SURVEY IS NOW CLOSED. WE ARE PREPARING A REPORT ON OUR FINDINGS WHICH WILL BE RELEASED SOON.
