Volunteering at DCLS’ Free Legal Advice Clinics
Since the service opened in 1990, our free clinics have been staffed by volunteer lawyers from the private and government sectors.
Darwin Community Legal Service’s continuing success is built on the ongoing support and generosity of its 50+ volunteer lawyers. Many of our volunteers are senior lawyers in busy practices who make their time available for the benefit of our clients. Volunteering at DCLS is not only personally satisfying but also an opportunity to work alongside some of Darwin’s best legal minds.
Our free legal advice clinics are held at varying times throughout the month, on evenings and weekends. Opportunities are available for volunteering at Darwin, Casuarina and Palmerston.
DCLS is currently seeking lawyers to volunteer at our evening legal advice sessions, in particular we are seeking volunteers for the roles of supervisor, advisor, legal assistants and intake coordinators. Volunteers are rostered on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis.
