NDIS appeals

DARWIN COMMUNITY LEGAL SERVICE SUPPORTS PEOPLE APPLYING FOR THE NDIS OR APPEALING DECISIONS MADE BY THE NDIS AGENCY.

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a new funding scheme intended to revolutionise how people with a disability are supported and funded.

DCLS has prepared a cheat sheet to help people understand whether they qualify, how their disability affects their life and how funding under the NDIS (if they qualify) may improve their life.

The NDIS represents a big change to the way the government supports people with disabilities, and it is expected that there will be some people who do not agree with decisions that are made.

For this reason, there is an appeals process laid out in the laws relating to the NDIS.

Darwin Community Legal Service (DCLS) has been funded by the Commonwealth Government to support and assist people who want to appeal against decisions which they do not agree with.

If you are unhappy with an NDIS decision it is important that you act fast. There are strict rules that outline appeals processes which include rigid time frames.

Having a disability which impacts on your day-to-day living, or caring for someone who relies on you to assist them can be a challenge.
